Editorial Policy
How BramptonBaseball.com researches, verifies, updates and corrects local baseball information.
Primary-source preference
Local claims should be sourced to the organization responsible for the information: City facilities to the City of Brampton, league programming to the league, and provincial rules or tournament structures to the relevant governing body.
Evergreen vs changing facts
We distinguish durable explanations from changing information such as registration dates, fees, tryouts, schedules and field permits. Changing facts are dated or described as current snapshots and readers are directed to the official source.
No fabricated local detail
If a source does not support a specific fee, date, roster, coach assignment or facility status, we do not invent it.
Corrections
Material errors should be corrected promptly and the page’s updated date changed when the correction affects meaning.
How we check information
We use the source that is closest to the information being checked: live organizer pages for schedules and registration, league pages for program details, City or governing-body records for facilities and history, and clearly labelled editorial guidance for comparisons or decisions. Our own guidance is never presented as an official rule.
When a claim is season-sensitive, the page should state the season or verification date instead of silently presenting it as permanent.
Who we source what from
In practice, that means: facility details (addresses, lights, amenities) come from the City of Brampton; competition schedules and standings come from COBA and Baseball Ontario; league-specific rules and fees come from the league itself (BMBI, BMRBL, BRMSA); and coaching or player-development guidance is grounded in Baseball Canada's NCCP framework and USA Baseball's LTAD guidance, not invented advice. Local history claims are limited to what BMBI, COBA, Baseball Ontario, Baseball Canada or the City can actually support — we don't fill historical gaps with assumption or nostalgia.
