House League Baseball
Definition and practical explanation of house league baseball.
A recreational local baseball format designed primarily around participation, skill development and league play.
Why it matters
It is usually the broadest entry point for players and families comparing commitment levels.
Example
A new player may begin in recreational baseball before deciding whether to pursue a Select or Rep pathway.
What the label does—and does not—tell you
“House League” generally signals the broad recreational pathway, but it does not guarantee identical schedules, field assignments or competitive formats every season. In Brampton, verify the current BMBI recreational page for the target age group rather than assuming an older season's structure still applies.
