The pathway at a glance

Recreational baseball emphasizes participation and development. Select and Rep involve team selection and progressively greater travel/training expectations.

House League / recreational
This is the broadest local entry point. It is usually the right first comparison for beginners and families prioritizing local play, skill development and manageable commitment.
Select
BMBI currently describes Brampton Royals Select teams from 10U to 18U. Its published program description includes a COBA schedule, travel to neighbouring cities, tournaments and off-season practice.
Rep / Royals
BMBI currently describes Rep teams from 8U to 22U, with AAA and AA classifications depending on age. Rep generally carries more practice, tournament and travel load than recreational baseball.
High Performance
BMBI also promotes a Royals High Performance Program for athletes seeking a more intensive competitive-development environment. Treat HPP as a distinct current program and verify age-specific availability directly with BMBI.
A useful parent decision rule
Do not ask only “Is my child good enough?” Also ask: Does the player want this? Can the family support the calendar? Is travel acceptable? Is the incremental cost worthwhile? Will the player still enjoy baseball?
