Brampton Baseball History Verification Methodology
How BramptonBaseball.com verifies local baseball history, handles archival gaps and separates official evidence from inference.
A historical claim is included only when the evidence supports the specific date, organization, event or facility assertion. Silence in the record is treated as a gap—not permission to guess.
Source hierarchy
- Primary/official organization records for an organization’s stated history.
- Municipal records and dated news releases for City facilities and civic events.
- Governing-body records for regional/provincial/national structure.
- Archived or secondary sources only when needed and clearly labeled.
Rolling claims
Statements such as “11 provincial championships over the last 10 years” are time-relative. They are stored as a dated/current organizational claim, not a permanent all-time statistic.
Absence of evidence
If no official source gives a founding date, championship year or biography detail, the site does not invent one. Future archival research can add facts later without rewriting the core methodology.
Corrections and conflicting records
When two authoritative sources conflict, the page should state the conflict, preserve dates and source names, and avoid silently choosing a preferred version without justification.
